red dum

I love the writing done by young children.
You have to sound it out carefully,
sometimes even reading it aloud to figure it out.

Pete is pretty comfortable with writing...
...he is in the second grade now :)
His biggest problem is usually with vowels.
He really likes putting -id for -ed at the end of words.

But Isie is another story.
She is still working out the way things are spelled,
and things sound differently to her than the rest of us!

Here is her writing from this last week:

They were learning about digestion and the path through the body.
The principal had come in and read them about the old lady who swallowed a fly
and they then created their own version.

If you can't read Isie's it states:
There was an old lady that swallowed a dinosaur.  First she chewed the dinosaur into pieces.  Second it went through her esophagus into her stomach.  next it went through the small intestines.  Then it went through her large intestines.  Last it is rectum.

Red dum for Rectum.
I love it!

I love how Isie is so well versed in how the digestive tract works! :)
